Tubes, heavy-duty tubes, and mousse

Heavy-duty tubes use thicker rubber to resist pinch flats, letting you run lower pressure with more confidence for a small weight penalty. Mousse inserts replace air entirely with a foam core, so a puncture simply can't deflate you — the pick of racers and riders in cactus-and-rock country. Choose by your priorities — cost and comfort, balanced protection, or absolute flat immunity.
